Thumbs Up!

As you may well remember from awhile ago, the Missourians have come up with some pretty special names for Gabe.  Another name, fondly given to him by the check-out lady at Walmart (and I say the check-out lady because out of the gazillion check-out lines at Walmart, we always seem to get hers), is "booger."  This came to mind today because, quite simply, Gabe has boogers.  Lots and lots of boogers.  They are more like snot, really, and they seem to pour out of his nose.  Every time he breathes out, a booger bubble grows and pops and then runs down his upper-lip into his mouth.  Yum!

I think his overabundance of boogers may be due to the colder weather we've been having, and whenever we go out for a walk, no matter how many layers he has on, the cold air seems to go right to his nose.  Gabe loves walks.  Most babies love walks, I know.  But, they have this paralytic-kind affect on Gabe so that he settles right into a trance as soon as his bottom hits the stroller.  If I had it in me, we could probably walk for hours and he'd never make a sound. He looks straight ahead and drops whatever he's holding and goes rigid.  Every once and awhile, he raises a hand, or both, as if to say, "Hey, I'm really liking this walk," but that's all.  Yesterday, in the bitter cold, Gabe gave me a thumbs up!
